“Are we there yet?”
“She’s touching me!!!”
“How long is this going to take?!?!?!”
Parents, you’ve heard them all. Taking kids on a road trip can be stressful for them and you! Let’s face it; kids were not built to sit in one spot for long periods of time. They get bored, restless, and they have little concept of how long it takes to get from Point A to Point B. Unfortunately, to reach many of the awesome camping and RV destinations in our beautiful country, you could be driving for days. Don’t let the amount of time in the car keep you from planning a trip to see our beautiful state and national parks and enjoying the RV lifestyle!
As a boredom buster, we’ve designed a fun Road-Trip Scavenger Hunt game that will keep your kids engaged and excited! This game couldn’t be any easier! All you need is a sheet of paper and a pen or pencil. No need to add extra stuff to your already over-stuffed vehicle. Their adventure starts as you back out of your driveway and head down the road. With the scavenger hunt list in hand, they’ll have to keep their eyes peeled for easy and not-so-easy items to pass by their windows and they’ll check them off as they see them. This list can also work as a great conversation starter, such as “Do brown cows really make chocolate milk?” and “I wonder what that train is carrying!”
We’ve created a great list to get you started, but use your imagination and add on to it with Welcome To (state name here) signs, landmarks, and other interesting scenery. This road trip scavenger hunt is sure to ease boredom, get your kids involved in the trip, and make the journey more enjoyable all around. Have fun with your kiddos and enjoy your road trip!
